Bear Trap rally joiners
Best Bear Trap joiner heroes — and where every hero fits.
Do not choose a Bear joiner because the hero is powerful. Choose the hero because the skill in the first slot actually helps the rally. This guide accounts for the full hero roster so you are never left wondering where somebody belongs.
The rule to remember
LEFTMOST HERO → TOP-RIGHT EXPEDITION SKILL
When you join somebody else's Bear rally, put the hero whose first Expedition skill you want to contribute in the leftmost slot. On the hero screen, that is the top-right Expedition skill. Hero power by itself does not tell you whether that skill helps Bear.
Best for the job
Reliable Bear joiners
These are the heroes worth explaining in detail because their first Expedition skill gives a broadly useful offensive effect. Older options do not automatically expire when a new generation unlocks.

Jessie
EpicTop-right Expedition skill
Stand of Arms
Up to +25% damage dealt for all troops
Simple, reliable and available early. Jessie remains useful long after newer generations unlock because the skill directly supports the whole rally.

Jasser
EpicTop-right Expedition skill
Tactical Genius
Up to +25% damage dealt for all troops
Another early hero with a clean all-troop damage boost. He is one of the easiest heroes for an alliance to build a dependable Bear joiner list around.

Seo-yoon
EpicTop-right Expedition skill
Rallying Beat
Up to +25% Troops Attack
Her first Expedition skill buffs troop Attack, giving early states another dependable offensive joiner.

Jeronimo
Gen 1Top-right Expedition skill
Battle Manifesto
Up to +25% damage dealt for all troops
Excellent as a joiner when he is not being used to call a rally. Strong Jeronimo accounts may be better used as callers, so do not burn your best caller just to fill a joiner slot.

Reina
Gen 4Top-right Expedition skill
Assassin's Instinct
Up to +30% normal attack damage for all troops
A strong mid-game joiner. The wording matters: she boosts normal attacks rather than every source of damage, but she is still a reliable Bear option.

Bradley
Gen 7Top-right Expedition skill
Veteran's Might
Up to +25% Attack for all troops
A clean all-troop Attack buff makes Bradley easy to understand and coordinate.

Hendrik
Gen 8Top-right Expedition skill
Worm's Ravage
Up to -25% enemy troop Defense
Hendrik works differently from the flat-buff heroes: his first Expedition skill reduces enemy Defense, giving later alliances another useful offensive effect to coordinate.

Magnus
Gen 9Top-right Expedition skill
Rapacious
Up to +25% friendly Troop Attack
A reliable all-troop Attack option and a clean later-generation joiner.

Blanchette
Gen 10Top-right Expedition skill
First Expedition skill
Up to +25% all-troop Lethality
Lethality gives later-generation alliances another strong universal offensive buff type.

Rufus
Gen 11Top-right Expedition skill
Inferno Regiment
Up to +25% Attack for all troops
A straightforward late-game offensive joiner whose first skill benefits the whole formation.

Hervor
Gen 12Top-right Expedition skill
Call For Blood
Up to +25% Lethality for all troops
A universal Lethality buff keeps her relevant to the entire formation and makes her a clean late-game joiner choice.

Hank
Gen 15Top-right Expedition skill
Roaring Rage
Up to +25% Lethality for all troops
His first Expedition skill is a universal offensive buff rather than one that depends on a single troop type.

Viveca
Gen 15Top-right Expedition skill
Nightfall Legion
Up to +25% Attack for all troops
A later-generation all-troop Attack option that keeps the joiner pool growing as states age.
Not bad — but know why you are using them
Situational Bear joiners
These heroes can contribute, but their value depends on RNG, troop mix or another condition. That makes the why more important than the hero name.

Greg
Gen 3Top-right Expedition skill
Sword of Justice
Chance-based offensive effect
Greg can help, but his first Expedition skill relies on a chance to trigger. That makes him less predictable than a guaranteed offensive buff when better options are available.

Renee
Gen 6Top-right Expedition skill
Nightmare Trace
Lancer-focused damage
Renee is a formation-specific joiner. Her first Expedition skill is built around Lancer damage, so she makes much more sense when you intentionally send a Lancer-heavy march than as the default lead for a Marksman-heavy Bear squad.

Gordon
Gen 7Top-right Expedition skill
First Expedition skill
Formation-dependent offensive value
Gordon is more interesting when the march is built to take advantage of his Lancer-focused value. That makes him a deliberate formation choice rather than a plug-and-play standard joiner.

Sonya
Gen 8Top-right Expedition skill
First Expedition skill
Lancer-focused offensive value
Like Renee, Sonya belongs in the conversation when your formation gives Lancers enough weight for her skill to matter. She is not a universal replacement for an all-troop joiner.
Absolutely not
Gina is the easiest example of the wrong skill for the job
These heroes may be useful elsewhere in the game. They just do not belong in the first slot of a standard Bear joiner march. Gina shows exactly why. Heroes such as Flint and Mia can be excellent Bear rally callers, but that is a different job — we cover their value in the rally-caller guide rather than recommending them here as joiner leads.

Gina
EpicTop-right Expedition skill
Endurance Training
Reduces Stamina cost
Fantastic for hunting and saving stamina. Absolutely not what we need in a Bear rally. Her first Expedition skill provides no Bear damage value, which is exactly why hero power alone is a terrible way to choose a joiner lead.

Quick answers
Bear joiner hero FAQ
Which hero matters when I join a Bear Trap rally?
The leftmost hero in your joining march matters for joiner-skill selection. For Bear joining, look at that hero's first Expedition skill — the top-right skill on the hero screen.
Do my second and third heroes matter when joining?
They do not contribute additional joiner Expedition skills the way your lead hero does. The critical choice for the rally buff is the hero in the first slot.
Is a newer-generation hero automatically a better Bear joiner?
No. Read the first Expedition skill. Some early heroes remain excellent for many generations, while some newer heroes are situational, defensive, troop-specific or simply better suited to another job.
What if I run out of recommended joiner heroes?
Do not automatically put your next-highest-power hero in front. Check the first Expedition skill, the formation you are sending and your alliance's Bear rules.
