Frostfire Expansion · Kathy & Experts

Kathy changes how fast the skill-tree race happens.

Two players can kill the same number of patrols and still reach Frostfire skills at different speeds. Kathy is one reason why. Her Frostfire-specific Expert skills can change skill progression, scoring, rewards, deployment, and recovery inside the event.

Icefire Hunter

More XP from every Mine Patrol.

Icefire Hunter adds bonus XP when you defeat Mine Patrols for Frostfire Skill upgrades. It starts at 5% and rises by 5 percentage points per skill level, reaching 50% at Level 10.

That matters most when patrols are scarce. Kathy cannot create more patrols, but she can make each patrol you actually secure contribute more toward RRLLR.

The rest of her Frostfire kit

Icefire Hunter is the headline. It is not the whole story.

Efficient Mining

Passive Orichalcum raises your scoring floor.

Once the Frostfire battle phase begins, Efficient Mining adds 500 to 5,000 passive Orichalcum per minute depending on skill level. It also adds 10 to 100 extra Charm Guides when you reach 200,000 Orichalcum. It will not replace good mining, but it keeps adding value while you play.

Valorous Cold

More troops. Less time stuck in recovery.

Valorous Cold scales from +5,000 to +50,000 deployment capacity and reduces hero recovery after defeat by 6% to 60%. That matters more in messy, PvP-heavy matches where losing a fight would otherwise remove useful heroes from your plan for longer.

Winter Treasures

Frostfire can pay you back in Charm Designs.

Winter Treasures adds 6 to 60 extra Charm Designs when you reach 200,000 Orichalcum. It does not help you score the event itself, but it changes the reward value of hitting that milestone.

Child of Frost · Talent

Her Frostfire combat talent is its own lane.

Child of Frost increases troop Lethality and Health specifically in Frostfire battles, scaling from +2% to +30%. That is useful context for players who fight more, but it belongs in Kathy's full Expert breakdown rather than turning this event guide into her entire character page.

What Kathy does NOT fix

She cannot manufacture a fresh patrol for you.

Bonus patrol XP is valuable only when you can actually secure patrols. A player with a developed Kathy can progress the tree faster from the same kills, but a stripped map is still a stripped map. Keep using the same Frostfire rules: reachable patrols, fresh veins when practical, productive mining when they are not, and full attention on Outbursts.

So should I invest?

Treat Kathy as a Frostfire investment, not a requirement to participate.

If your immediate goal is improving how smoothly Frostfire plays, Icefire Hunter is the easiest skill to understand first: it directly helps you turn the patrols you manage to secure into skill-tree progress. Efficient Mining raises your scoring floor, Valorous Cold becomes more relevant when combat and recovery are costing you time, and Winter Treasures improves the reward for reaching 200,000 Orichalcum.

FSC takeaway

Do not turn an event guide into an automatic spending order.

Books of Knowledge have competing uses. Kathy has obvious Frostfire value, but the right investment depends on what else your account needs and which Experts are competing for those resources. This page tells you what Kathy changes inside Frostfire. Her full Expert page will handle exact upgrade costs, broader account value, talent progression, and where she belongs against other Experts.
